10 ft Toslink Optical Cable for Home Audio

This IVANKY Toslink digital optical audio cable measures 10 ft and uses a Japan Toray original fiber core to transmit lossless uncompressed PCM audio. It also supports compressed 5.1 to 7.1 surround sound formats including Dolby Digital Plus and DTS-HD High Resolution. The grey braided jacket and 24K gold-plated connectors provide durability and corrosion resistance for a reliable connection.

Verify Toslink Ports and CL3 Rating Needs

Before ordering, confirm that both your source device and your receiver or soundbar have standard Toslink (S/PDIF) optical ports. The cable is CL3 rated for in-wall installation, so check whether your local building codes require this rating for the planned routing. Ensure the 10 ft length suits the distance between your components without excess slack or tension.

Replaces Shorter or Unshielded Optical Cables

This cable upgrades from shorter Toslink leads that limit component placement or from basic unshielded fibres that can suffer signal loss over distance. The jump is worthwhile when you need the extra reach for a clean in-wall run or when gold-plated connectors are preferred for long-term reliability in a permanent home cinema or gaming setup.

Questions about this item

Does the 10 ft cable ship with both Toslink connectors already attached, or do I need to buy plugs separately?

The cable arrives with two gold-plated Toslink connectors permanently fitted, so no extra plugs or adapters are required.

Should I pick the 10 ft length or a shorter version for a soundbar that sits 2 m from the TV?

At 10 ft the cable reaches 3 m, giving comfortable slack for a 2 m run without tension or coiled excess.

Will the Japan Toray fiber core actually deliver lossless 5.1 and 7.1 surround sound through my receiver?

Yes, the Toray core supports uncompressed PCM and compressed 5.1 to 7.1 formats including Dolby Digital Plus and DTS-HD High Resolution for full dynamic range.
