Forged tool steel meets A.N.S.I. standards and features a hot-riveted joint for smooth, wobble-free action. Induction-hardened cutting edges reach a Rockwell hardness of 55 to 60. Power Pro Grip double-dipped handles provide a slip-proof hold during use.

Cutting Capacity Limits

This tool cuts cable up to 4/0 aluminum and 2/0 soft copper. It also handles 100-pair 24 AWG communication wire. It does not cut steel or ACSR cable; a separate product 11047 is required for ACSR. The handles are not insulated and are not intended for protection against electric shock. Never use this cutter on or near live electrical circuits.

Installation And Common Issues

No installation is required; the cutter is ready to use out of the box. The main risk is attempting to cut unsupported materials such as steel or ACSR, which will damage the jaws.
