Capacity and thermal limits

The iron reaches a working temperature around the solder’s 183 °C melting point quickly, giving enough headroom for standard copper traces, connector pins and light gauge wire. Continuous heavy joints such as large ground planes or thick battery cables will draw heat faster than the 60 W element can replace it, so the tip temperature drops and dwell time increases. The 0.6 mm solder diameter feeds cleanly on fine-pitch pads but becomes tedious on joints requiring high volume fill.

Build cues and daily use

A power indicator light confirms the heater is live, while the insulated handle stays cool during extended sessions and the moulded strain relief protects the cord at the handle entry.
