It uses a 32-pin Mini SAS connector that fans out to four 7-pin SATA connectors over a 3.3 ft length. The assembly supports up to 6Gb/s per drive and uses slim ribbon cables wrapped in woven mesh sheathing.

Builders adding multiple SATA disks to a host bus adapter with an SFF-8087 interface will find the forward breakout layout convenient.
