Share four USB 3.0 devices between two computers with a single button press and LED indicator, no drivers required
The Jansicotek KVM switch lets two computers share four USB 3.0 peripherals with a single button press. It targets home users and small offices that want to avoid unplugging cables or configuring network sharing for printers, scanners, keyboards, mice or flash drives. The device works with Windows, Mac OS X, Linux and Chrome OS without installing drivers.
The unit draws power from the USB bus so no external adapter is required for typical peripherals. A separate micro-USB female port accepts a standard 5 V adapter, sold separately, to stabilise operation with higher-draw devices such as portable hard drives, SSDs or digital video cameras. Front-panel LEDs show which computer is active at a glance.
The switch passes USB 3.0 signals through four downstream ports, so total throughput is shared among all connected devices. Very high-bandwidth or high-current peripherals may need the optional 5 V supply to function reliably, and any charger above 5 V must not be used. Buyers who need to share peripherals across more than two systems or who require dedicated bandwidth per device cannot meet that need with this two-computer design.

The switch uses USB 3.0, which caps data transfer at 5 Gbps in practice.
The compact box sits flat on any surface; no brackets, rails or screws are required.
Connect both computers and up to four peripherals, then press the button to switch; the step many miss is adding a standard 5 V adapter into the micro-USB port when high-draw devices such as hard drives are attached.
