Connects a DisplayPort 1.4 source to an HDMI 2.1 display at up to 7680×4320 30 Hz or 4K 120 Hz, carrying both video and audio
This passive adapter connects a DisplayPort 1.4 output on a laptop, desktop or graphics card to an HDMI 2.1 display. It carries both video and audio in a single direction from source to screen. The compact coupler is intended for direct connection to monitors, TVs, projectors or VR headsets.
The adapter works exclusively from a DisplayPort source to an HDMI display and will not function with a hub or in the reverse direction. Compatibility requires a DP1.4 or DP++ port on the host device and an HDMI 2.1 input on the display.
The adapter delivers 8K UHD resolution at 30Hz for high-detail video streaming or static content. It also handles 4K resolution at 120Hz for smoother motion in gaming or fast playback. Bandwidth limits prevent higher refresh rates at 8K.

Yes, the adapter is a passive uni-directional coupler that passes a DisplayPort 1.4 signal through to an HDMI 2.1 input, so the source must provide DP 1.4 bandwidth for 8K at 30 Hz.
The adapter supports 4K at 120 Hz over its HDMI 2.1 output, provided the source sends a compatible DisplayPort 1.4 stream and the display accepts that timing.
A male DisplayPort 1.4 port on the computer and a female HDMI 2.1 port on the monitor, TV or projector are required for the adapter to plug in directly.
