The Jansicotek HDMI 2.1 bi-directional switch lets you connect two sources to one display or one source to two displays. Only one display operates at a time. A button on the unit selects the active path. It is suited for setups that need to alternate between a console and a media player or between two screens without unplugging cables.

Resolution and bandwidth limits

The switch passes signals up to 8K at 60 Hz, 4K at 120 Hz, 2K at 144 Hz and 1080p at 240 Hz. It supports VRR, Dynamic HDR and HDCP 2.3 at a maximum bandwidth of 48 Gbps. These figures are only achievable when every device and cable in the chain meets the same specification. Cable runs longer than 1.5 metres for 8K at 60 Hz or 3 metres for 4K at 120 Hz may reduce the usable resolution or refresh rate.

What to verify before buying

Confirm that your source devices, display devices and HDMI cables all support the target resolution and refresh rate you intend to use. Remember that the two connected displays cannot show content simultaneously.
