HDMI KVM Extender 60 m over Cat6

The Jansicotek HDMI KVM extender transmits 1080p video, audio and USB keyboard and mouse signals up to 60 metres over a single AWG23 Cat6 cable. It supports HDMI 1.4b, HDCP 1.4 and DVI compliant sources with a maximum pixel clock of 300 MHz and 10.2 Gbps data rate. Power over cable requires only one 12 V 1 A adapter at the transmitter.

Upgrade from short HDMI cables

This extender replaces direct HDMI runs limited to a few metres and adds remote USB control at distances up to 40 metres on Cat5, 50 metres on Cat5e or 60 metres on Cat6. The jump is worth it when the display and computer must sit in separate rooms or racks while keeping 1920 x 1080 at 60 Hz with zero compression and no added latency.

Plug-and-play Cat6 install

Connect the transmitter to the source with an HDMI cable and a USB Type-B cable, link transmitter and receiver with a single Cat5e or Cat6 patch cord, then attach the display and USB keyboard and mouse to the receiver. The transmitter also provides an HDMI loop-out for a local monitor. Most issues come from using cables below Cat5e spec or exceeding the stated distance limits for the cable grade chosen.

Questions about this item

What cable type and length does the 60 m link require?

Use a single AWG23 Cat6 cable up to 60 m; Cat5e reaches 50 m and Cat5 reaches 40 m.

Which end gets the 12 V 1 A adapter when using the POC function?

Connect the DC 12 V/1 A adapter to either the transmitter or the receiver; the other unit is powered over the Cat cable.

Does the local HDMI loop-out on the transmitter need a separate power supply?

No, the loop-out is driven by the transmitter which already receives power from the single 12 V adapter via POC.
