A compact Ethernet switch selector lets one device toggle between two networks or one network serve two devices with a single button press
The Jansicotek OZHW7 is a passive RJ45 selector that lets a single computer toggle between two separate networks with a single button press. It suits home-office users who need to isolate a corporate LAN from a personal connection without unplugging cables or rebooting the machine.
The shielded metal enclosure measures 4cm by 3.5cm by 2.1cm and draws 3.3V over USB, adding no fan noise or measurable heat to the desk. An integrated LED shows which port is active, so the user can confirm the current path at a glance.
This adapter removes the wear and hassle of repeatedly plugging and unplugging Cat5 through Cat8 patch leads when moving between internal and external networks. The jump is worthwhile whenever physical port isolation is required but a powered managed switch would be excessive.

Connect the USB power cable to a 3.3V source, plug the Ethernet cables into the three RJ45 ports, then press the button to choose the active path; the step often missed is providing USB power, because the switch will not change state without it.
No scheduled maintenance is required; the aluminium shell and shielded RJ45 contacts are rated for long-term use, so only the USB power cable or the Ethernet patch cords would ever need replacement if they become damaged.
The 1000Mbps throughput ceiling of the RJ45 ports is reached before any thermal or power limit, so sustained traffic above 1Gbps will bottleneck at the connector speed.
