Two-Port USB-C KVM for 8K Workflows

This Jansicotek OZK7 switch lets two USB-C computers share a single DisplayPort 1.4 or HDMI 2.1 monitor and three USB 2.0 peripherals. Front-panel push buttons and a three-second auto-scan interval make switching straightforward. The unit includes two 1.2 metre USB-C Gen 2 cables and a USB-A to USB-C power lead. It targets users who need high-resolution video and basic peripheral sharing between two laptops or desktops.

Video Bandwidth and Refresh Constraints

Maximum output reaches 7680×4320 at 60 Hz with DSC, while 4K supports 60, 120 and 144 Hz and 1080p adds 165 Hz. Actual resolution and refresh rate depend on the host computer, the monitor and the cables used. Only one video output — either DisplayPort or HDMI — can be active at a time. The three downstream USB ports operate at 2.0 speeds, so high-throughput storage or capture devices will be limited.

Desktop Footprint and Power Behaviour

The enclosure measures 5.43 by 5.35 by 1.46 inches and weighs 9.52 ounces, sitting unobtrusively on a desk. A USB-A to USB-C cable must remain connected to power the switch itself, and Power Delivery 3.0 passes up to 100 W at 5, 9, 15 or 20 V to the active host. Because the KVM draws power for its own operation, the host receives slightly less than the full 100 W. A 3.5 mm audio jack is provided for analogue output.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the DisplayPort 1.4 or HDMI 2.1 output for my 8K monitor?

Use whichever input your monitor provides; only one output can be active at a time, and both support the 7680×4320 resolution at 60 Hz.

What does the 8K@60Hz rating actually deliver on my laptop?

You can reach 7680×4320 at 60 Hz with DSC, or 4K at up to 144 Hz and 1080p at up to 165 Hz, limited by your GPU, display and cables.

Does the USB-C Thunderbolt 4 connection limit peripheral speed?

The three shared ports run at USB 2.0, so mice, keyboards and printers work fine, but storage devices will be capped at 2.0 speeds.
