USB Multimedia Controller

The Jansicotek OZU8 is a USB multimedia controller knob that adds a tactile volume dial and one‑key mute to any computer. It connects via a removable USB‑C cable and works immediately on Windows 7, 8, 10, XP, Vista, Mac, Android and iOS without installing drivers. The aluminium alloy body weighs 0.25 kg and measures 5.4 by 3.5 by 2.1 inches, with a weighted base and four anti‑slip pads for stability.

Driver‑free USB interface

Because the device uses the standard USB audio class, it requires no proprietary software and draws power directly from the host port. The single USB‑C connection carries both power and control data, so there is no separate power adapter and no latency from additional conversion stages. Compatibility is limited to operating systems that implement the USB audio class natively; older or specialised embedded systems may not recognise the knob.

Desktop audio adjustment

The rotary encoder provides continuous volume adjustment for music, video, gaming and conference calls, while a press of the knob toggles mute instantly. The compact footprint suits a cluttered desk, and the detachable cable simplifies transport or replacement. It does not offer per‑application mixing, motorised feedback, or additional media keys, so users needing channel‑level control or transport buttons will need a more advanced controller.

Questions about this item

Which size and weight should I expect for the OZU8 controller?

The knob measures 5.4 by 3.5 by 2.1 inches and weighs .25 kg, making it compact enough to sit beside a keyboard without crowding the desk.

How does the one‑key mute behave when I press the knob during playback?

Pressing the rotary knob once pauses the audio instantly; pressing it again resumes playback from the same point without opening any software.

What does the USB‑C connection actually limit in daily use?

The removable USB‑C cable carries only power and standard HID volume commands, so the device works driver‑free on Windows 7 through 10, macOS, Android and iOS but cannot transmit high‑resolution audio streams.
