Two-computer DisplayPort KVM switch

The Jansicotek SW204N-DP lets two computers or laptops share a single monitor and four USB 3.0 peripherals. It supports video up to 8K at 60 Hz and 4K at 120 Hz through DisplayPort 1.4. Switching is handled by front push-buttons or a wired desktop controller. The unit includes two USB 3.0 cables, a power adapter and the external controller kit.

Check your DisplayPort

Both computers must provide a DisplayPort 1.4 output to reach the highest resolutions, though the switch is backward compatible with DP 1.2 and 1.1. Each system also needs a free USB-A port for the included USB 3.0 cables that carry keyboard, mouse and peripheral data. Verify that your monitor accepts the target resolution and refresh rate over its DisplayPort input.

Bundled controller and cables simplify desk layout

The wired desktop controller allows instant switching without reaching the main unit, and its cable can be routed out of sight. Two USB 3.0 cables are supplied so both computers connect immediately, supporting 5 Gbps data rates for drives, scanners or printers. A power adapter is included to maintain stable operation across all four USB ports and the video path.

Questions about this item

What cables and accessories come in the box, and do I need to buy any DisplayPort cables separately?

The package includes the KVM switch, an external controller, two USB 3.0 cables, a power adapter and a user manual. DisplayPort cables for the computers and monitor are not included and must be purchased separately.

The title mentions 8K at 60 Hz and 4K at 120 Hz — which resolution and refresh rate should I choose for my setup?

Choose 8K at 60 Hz if your monitor and graphics cards support DisplayPort 1.4 and you need maximum pixel density. Choose 4K at 120 Hz for higher refresh rates in gaming or motion-sensitive work; both modes are supported by the same DP 1.4 link.

What does the 48 Gbps video bandwidth mean when I connect two PCs and one 8K monitor?

The 48 Gbps bandwidth carries the full 8K 60 Hz signal (7680 × 4320) from the active computer to the monitor without compression, while the USB 3.0 hub simultaneously handles up to 5 Gbps for peripherals.
