4×2 KVM for four computers

This Jansicotek SW245-1DP1HD switch lets one keyboard, one mouse and two monitors control four separate computers. It accepts both HDMI and DisplayPort inputs from each system and routes video to two displays simultaneously. The unit is built for office multitasking, home studios or gaming setups that need to juggle several hosts at once. It does not suit users who only have a single computer or who need more than two monitor outputs.

Bundled cables and modes change daily use

Four USB 3.0 Type-A-to-A cables are included so each computer connects immediately for peripheral sharing. A 12 V 1 A power adapter keeps the switch running without drawing bus power from the hosts. The remote control and IR extender allow switching from across the room, while duplicate and extend display modes let you mirror or span the desktop across both screens. Buyers whose graphics cards lack dual-display support cannot use extend mode.

Desktop button, hot-keys

Push buttons on the top panel and keyboard hot-keys give instant port selection, and a three-second auto-scan cycles through connected systems automatically. EDID emulation keeps resolution and refresh-rate data stable during switching so monitors rarely lose sync. The aluminium shell helps with heat dissipation during continuous operation. Users who rely on 8K@60Hz must supply their own certified Ultra High Speed HDMI 2.1 cables, as none are bundled.

Questions about this item

Will the external 12V power adapter need replacing after long use?

The 12V 1A adapter powers the aluminium-shell switch and four USB 3.0 ports; it is a standard barrel-jack unit that can be swapped if it ever fails.

What bandwidth ceiling limits sustained 8K 60 Hz video through the HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort inputs?

The switch tops out at 7680×4320 at 60 Hz and 4K at 120 Hz; pushing higher resolutions or refresh rates will hit that hard limit.

Does the aluminium chassis stay cool and silent when all four PCs and both monitors run all day?

Passive aluminium housing dissipates heat without fans, so operation stays silent; surface temperature rises slightly under full 8K load but remains within normal limits.
