30 ft Toslink Optical Audio Cable

This 30 ft Toslink cable carries digital optical audio between sound bars, home-theatre receivers, TVs and consoles. Male-to-male gold-plated connectors fit standard SPDIF ports. The aluminium-alloy shell and braided jacket protect the fibre core during routing. It is built for new installations that need a long, durable optical link.

Suits surround systems up to 7.1 channels

The cable supports uncompressed PCM and compressed 5.1, 6.1 and 7.1 Dolby AC-3 or DTS bitstreams. Buyers who need analogue RCA or HDMI audio connections should choose a different cable type. Installations requiring runs longer than 30 ft will need an alternative length or an active extender.

30 ft length decides the fit

At 30 ft the cable reaches components across a typical living room without strain. The OD 2.2/5.0 mm jacket bends around corners while keeping the fibre aligned. Measure the exact path before ordering; a shorter or longer run calls for a different cable.

Questions about this item

What clearance does the 5.0 mm jacket need behind the panel?

The cable has an outer diameter of 5.0 mm at the jacket, so allow enough depth for a gentle bend radius behind the panel.

How do I align the male Toslink plugs so they seat fully?

The gold-plated connectors have a keyed profile; rotate until the notch matches the port, then push straight in until you feel a click.

What wear items should I expect on a 30 ft Toslink run?

The gold-plated tips and fiber core are solid-state; inspect the connector faces for dust or scratches if signal drops, and replace the cable if the core is kinked.
