Switch topology and supported resolutions

The Jansicotek TJ-A009 is a bi-directional DisplayPort 1.4 switch that handles two sources on one display or one source across two displays. It passes 8K at 60 Hz, 4K at 120 Hz and 1080p at 240 Hz with 32.4 Gbps bandwidth and 10-bit colour depth. HDR and 4:4:4 chroma are supported for compatible hosts and monitors. External DC 5 V power is required for operation.

Cable and power prerequisites

Before ordering, confirm that both the host and the display have native DisplayPort 1.4 ports and that certified DP 1.4 cables are used for every link. The switch will not pass a signal without the supplied USB power cable connected, so a free USB port or 5 V adapter must be available at the install site. Only one display is active at a time; simultaneous output to both screens is not possible.

Sustained-operation behaviour

The unit is rated for continuous 32.4 Gbps throughput with 10-bit HDR streams, so extended gaming or workstation sessions at 4K 144 Hz or 8K 60 Hz remain stable. A front-panel button swaps the active path in roughly one second and LED indicators show the selected channel. No fan is present, so the aluminium enclosure relies on passive dissipation during long-duration high-bandwidth use.

Questions about this item

What cables are included with the Jansicotek TJ-A009 and what must I supply myself?

The box contains the bidirectional switch and a DC 5 V power cable. You must provide DisplayPort 1.4 cables for every source and display you connect.

The switch is bi-directional — how do I decide between 2-in-1-out and 1-in-2-out modes?

Connect two sources to one display for 2-in-1-out, or one source to two displays for 1-in-2-out. Only one display is active at a time in the latter mode.

The headline 32.4 Gbps figure is quoted — what resolution and refresh rate can I actually run on my monitor?

With a DP 1.4 cable you can achieve 8K at 60 Hz, 4K at 120 Hz, 1440p at 165 Hz, or 1080p at 240 Hz, provided your GPU and monitor support those modes.
