Jansicotek TJ-A009 DP 1.4 Bidirectional Switch

The Jansicotek TJ-A009 is a DisplayPort 1.4 bidirectional switch that routes signals between one source and two displays or two sources and one display. It suits desktop users who need to share a single high-resolution monitor between two computers or toggle a single computer between two screens without unplugging cables.

DP 1.4 bandwidth limits at 32.4 Gbps

The switch passes DisplayPort 1.4 traffic up to 32.4 Gbps, enabling 8K at 60 Hz, 4K at 120 Hz, 1440p at 165 Hz and 1080p at 240 Hz. It cannot drive both connected displays simultaneously; only the selected port receives an active signal. External power via the included USB cable is mandatory — without it the unit passes no video or audio.

Single-button port selection decides suitability

A front-panel button swaps the active path in roughly one second while LED indicators show which port is live. If your workflow demands simultaneous output to two monitors, this device will not meet that need. For manual switching between two DisplayPort 1.4 endpoints it provides a compact, powered solution.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 1-in-2-out or 2-in-1-out mode for my setup?

The unit works both ways — connect one source to switch between two displays, or connect two sources to share one display. Only one display is active at a time.

What does the 32.4 Gbps bandwidth actually deliver on my monitor?

It carries 8K at 60 Hz, 4K at 120 Hz, 1440p at 165 Hz, and 1080p at 240 Hz with 10-bit colour and HDR, provided your cables and GPU also support those modes.

Does the DisplayPort 1.4 interface limit the refresh rate at 8K?

DP 1.4 caps at 8K 60 Hz and 4K 120 Hz over the 32.4 Gbps link; higher refresh rates at 8K would need a newer standard.
