USB-C to DisplayPort 1.4 cable for 8K displays

This Jansicotek TJ-A055 cable connects a USB-C source to a DisplayPort 1.4 monitor. It targets users who need a single 10 ft link for high-resolution video without separate power or software. The unidirectional design carries display signals only and does not support charging.

DisplayPort 1.4 bandwidth of 32.4 Gbps

The cable implements VESA DisplayPort 1.4 with HBR3 signalling, delivering 32.4 Gbps total bandwidth. DSC 1.2 compression and FEC are supported, enabling the highest listed resolutions at their stated refresh rates. HDCP 2.2 and 1.4 content protection is also included.

8K at 60 Hz and 4K at 144 Hz headroom

Comfortable modes include 7680×4320 at 60 Hz, 5120×2880 at 60 Hz and 3840×2160 at 144 Hz. High-refresh 2560×1440 at 240 Hz is also within spec. The cable cannot exceed the 32.4 Gbps limit, so dual 8K or uncompressed 8K above 60 Hz is not possible.

Questions about this item

What does the 8K 60 Hz rating mean when I plug this into my laptop?

The cable can deliver 7680×4320 at 60 Hz with 10-bit colour HDR, provided your USB-C source supports DisplayPort 1.4 Alt Mode and your monitor accepts that resolution.

How does the DisplayPort 1.4 interface limit what I can actually run?

The link tops out at 32.4 Gbps using HBR3, so 8K 60 Hz relies on DSC 1.2 compression; 4K 144 Hz and 2K 240 Hz fit within the same bandwidth ceiling.

What do I need on my desk to make the 10-foot cable reach and stay put?

A male USB-C port on the source, a male DisplayPort 1.4 socket on the display, and enough slack for the 10 ft nylon-braided run with aluminium-shell connectors.
