What the cable is

The Jansicotek TJ-A285 is a 3.3 ft DisplayPort 2.1 cable rated for 80 Gbps bandwidth. It carries 16K at 60 Hz, 8K at 120 Hz, 4K at 240 Hz and 2K at 360 Hz with Dynamic HDR, HDCP 2.2 and DSC 1.2a support. Triple shielding, a 28 AWG OFC conductor and gold-plated connectors are built into a double nylon braid.

What it replaces and when to upgrade

The cable is backward compatible with DisplayPort 1.4, 1.3, 1.2, 1.2a, 1.1 and 1.0 so it can replace any older DP link. The jump is worth it when the source and display both support 80 Gbps and you need 16K, high-refresh 4K or 8K at 120 Hz without compression artefacts.

Who it suits and who should look elsewhere

Suits PC gamers, content creators and multi-monitor users whose graphics card and monitor both implement DisplayPort 2.1 at full 80 Gbps. Buyers whose hardware tops out at DisplayPort 1.4 or lower will not gain the headline resolutions and should look at a cable matched to their actual link speed.

Questions about this item

What clearance does the 3.3 ft green cable and its male DisplayPort 2.1 connectors need behind the monitor?

The 3.3 ft length and straight male-to-male plugs require enough rear space for the cable bend radius; the grooved, buckle-free shell is designed for tight spots.

Which way round do the 28 AWG OFC conductors and 24K gold-plated pins go when plugging into a GPU and a 16K@60 Hz display?

Both ends are identical male DisplayPort 2.1 connectors; insert either end into the graphics card and the other into the monitor until the latch clicks.

How often should the triple-shielded, double nylon-braided jacket rated for 15,000 bends be inspected or replaced?

With a 15,000-bend lifespan the cable lasts years under normal desk routing; inspect the braid and connectors if you notice signal drop-outs or physical fraying.
