Capture resolution and frame rate

The Jansicotek YCY-2353 captures a single HDMI video signal at up to 1080p 60 Hz while accepting 4K 30 Hz input. It encodes using MJPEG or YUY2 and records 48 KHz PCM audio. The USB 3.0 interface provides 300–350 MB/s throughput and falls back to USB 2.0 at 40 MB/s. No external power supply is required.

Thermals noise and power draw

The device draws 2.5 W or less directly from the USB port, so it adds negligible heat to a workstation. There are no moving parts, making operation completely silent during live streaming, recording or conferencing. An LED indicator shows link status without contributing audible noise. Automatic format detection keeps the pipeline stable across Windows, macOS, Linux and Android.

Sustained-load behaviour

During long capture sessions the hardware maintains 1080p 60 Hz output without frame drops, relying on the host CPU for encoding rather than onboard processing. The 3.5 mm TRS microphone input allows live commentary but does not record party chat. HDMI pass-through lets a monitor or projector display the source signal simultaneously. Some Windows 7 installations require a driver install before use.

Questions about this item

How do I connect the Jansicotek YCY-2353 to my PC and what is the common mistake?

Plug the HDMI source into the capture card's HDMI input, then connect the card to a USB 3.0 port on the PC; the frequent error is using a USB 2.0 port which limits bandwidth to 40 MB/s instead of 300–350 MB/s.

What upkeep does the YCY-2353 require over time?

No internal maintenance is needed; keep the HDMI and USB ports dust-free, ensure the 3.5 mm TRS microphone jack stays clean, and verify the LED indicator lights during operation.

What is the first limitation I hit during long capture sessions?

The device caps recorded video at 1080p 60 Hz while HDMI input accepts 4K 30 Hz, and sustained throughput is bounded by the USB 3.0 link at 300–350 MB/s.
