Jaspertronics 230W 7R Arc Lamp

The Jaspertronics Color imagination BEAM 230-LAMP is a 230W 7R arc discharge lamp built as a direct replacement for the Color imagination BEAM 230 fixture. It suits lighting technicians and venue operators who need a reliable bare-bulb module for moving-head beam units in clubs, concerts, houses of worship and theatre installations. The lamp weighs 0.2000 kg.

Arc Discharge Practical Limits

Arc discharge lamps require a compatible electronic ballast and proper ignition voltage; running the lamp on an incorrect driver will cause immediate failure or unstable output. The 7R arc capsule produces high correlated colour temperature and intense beam punch, but output drops as the electrode gap widens with use. Fixtures must provide adequate forced-air cooling to maintain the rated operating envelope.

Bare-Bulb Installation Notes

Installation involves seating the bare bulb into the fixture's lamp holder and securing the retention clips without touching the quartz envelope. Skin oils create hot spots that lead to premature envelope failure, so clean cotton gloves are essential. Common errors include misaligning the anode-cathode orientation, skipping the ballast compatibility check, and powering the fixture before the lamp cover is fully latched.
