Clear Poly Hockey Sock Tape 320

Jaybird & Mais 320 Clear Poly Hockey Sock Tape is a 6 mil gauge polyethylene film tape designed to secure socks and shin pads for ice hockey players. The transparent material does not conceal uniform colours and stretches to maintain tension over padding. It is hand-tearable for quick application on the bench or in the locker room.

Adhesive and core design

A synthetic rubber adhesive bonds the tape securely to fabric and foam without leaving heavy residue on equipment. The roll is wound on a 1-1/2 inch diameter core that fits standard tape dispensers and equipment bags. The clear polyethylene film resists moisture and cold rink conditions during normal use.

Roll length and colour change

Each roll supplies 27.3 yards of tape, providing enough length for multiple games or practices. The manufacturer recently updated the formulation so the film is clearer than previous batches while retaining the same stretch value. No additional accessories or software are included with the tape.

Questions about this item

How do I apply the 1-inch wide tape over my shin pads without it sticking to itself?

Unroll a short length, press the adhesive side onto the sock above the shin pad, then wrap with steady tension — the synthetic-rubber adhesive grabs instantly, so keep the roll moving to avoid folds.

When should I replace the roll during a long tournament?

Each roll gives 27.3 yards; most players use one roll every 3-4 games, so carry a spare once the core shows less than a full wrap remaining.

What fails first if I keep the tape on through multiple periods of heavy skating?

The 6 mil polyethylene film stretches until the adhesive shear limit is reached, causing the wrap to loosen around the shin pad.
