Portable speaker for on-the-go listening

The JBL Grip is a compact Bluetooth speaker designed for personal audio anywhere. Its integrated carry handle makes it simple to grab and move between rooms or outdoor spaces. The driver arrangement delivers punchy bass and clear highs despite the small footprint. It suits listeners who want a single, rugged unit for music, podcasts or calls without installing a fixed system.

IP68 waterproof dustproof drop-proof construction

A sealed IP68-rated enclosure protects the internals from water immersion and fine dust. The drop-proof chassis survives hard falls onto concrete without damage. Recycled fabric and plastic form the outer shell, reducing material waste. A side-panel button cycles ambient-light themes on the rear panel for visual atmosphere. The JBL Portable app pairs over Bluetooth for firmware updates and sound adjustments.

Up to 14 hours playtime with Playtime Boost

The internal battery provides up to 14 hours of playback when Playtime Boost is active. A full recharge takes roughly three hours from a standard USB power source. Auracast allows stereo pairing of two Grip units or linking multiple compatible speakers for wider coverage. The efficient amplifier keeps heat and fanless noise to a minimum during typical listening levels.

Questions about this item

What does the IP68 rating mean for daily use?

IP68 means the speaker is fully dust-tight and can survive continuous immersion in water, so it handles beach sand, pool splashes or a drop in the bath without damage.

What physical features let the JBL Grip survive drops onto concrete?

A ruggedised chassis with shock-absorbing materials and a reinforced frame protects the drivers and electronics from impact when the speaker falls on hard surfaces.

How do I link two JBL Grip speakers for stereo sound?

Enable Auracast on both units via the JBL Portable app, then select stereo pairing; the app guides you through the handshake so left and right channels separate automatically.
