Scale and Subject

This 1/72 scale diecast model replicates the Grumman F-14A Tomcat flown by VF-41 Black Aces aboard USS Nimitz during the 1981 Gulf of Sidra operations. It is built for adult collectors and military aviation enthusiasts who value accurate historical representation. The officially licensed replica arrives in the manufacturer's original unopened packaging.

Diecast Construction Limits

The model uses diecast metal and plastic construction to provide a heavy, realistic feel and durability for display. Its retractable wings are a functional feature of this specific replica, allowing variable-sweep positioning. The included display stand supports the airframe, but the model is not intended for rough handling or play by children.

Squadron Markings Decide Fit

The definitive specification is the VF-41 Black Aces squadron marking combined with the 1981 Gulf of Sidra deployment context. Buyers seeking a different carrier air wing, a later F-14 variant, or a clean airframe without unit-specific decals will not find this model suitable for their collection.
