Scale and Subject

This JC Wings diecast model reproduces the Supermarine Spitfire MK IXC flown by the Royal Air Force Polish Combat Team in North Africa during 1943. The 1/72 scale fighter arrives in manufacturer's original unopened packaging with a display stand included. Detailed exterior surfaces and realistic panel lines, antennas and access panels create an authentic representation of the historic aircraft.

Collector Focus

The model suits military-history enthusiasts and collectors who value officially licensed, true-to-scale accuracy in a compact display piece. Diecast metal and plastic construction provides a heavy, realistic feel and durability for shelf display. Buyers seeking larger scales, playable toys or aircraft from other theatres will need to look elsewhere.

Dimensions and Detail

At approximately 5.25 inches long with a 5.5 inch wingspan, the model fits easily on a desk or cabinet while still showing fine surface details. The 1/72 scale limits cockpit interior visibility and engine compartment depth compared to larger replicas. Collectors requiring exhaustive rivet-level detail or movable control surfaces will find the scope constrained by this scale.

Questions about this item

Does this 1/72 scale Spitfire need any glue, paint or tools before it can be displayed?

The model arrives fully assembled and finished in its 1943 RAF North Africa markings, so no glue, paint or tools are required — just place it on the included display stand.

Will the 5.5 inch wingspan and 5.25 inch length look proportional next to my other 1/72 aircraft?

Yes, the dimensions follow true 1/72 scale, so the Spitfire matches the size of any other correctly scaled 1/72 military aircraft you already own.

How can I confirm the panel lines, antennas and access panels are accurate once the model is on the stand?

Compare the raised panel lines, tiny antennas and distinct access panels on the diecast fuselage and wings with reference photos of the real MK IXC — they are moulded to match the 1943 North Africa configuration.
