Cuts wire up to 20 AWG and strips 22 to 24 AWG conductors with 1 1/2 in jaws
The Jonard BSHORTH SE is a 6 1/2 in diagonal cutter designed for electricians who need a manual wire-cutting tool. It suits technicians working with solid or stranded conductors up to 20 AWG and those stripping 22-24 AWG wires.
The cutter is uninsulated and carries no voltage rating, so it must not be used on live circuits. It is not ESD-safe, non-sparking or tether-ready, limiting its use in static-sensitive, hazardous or height-safety environments.
The maximum jaw opening of 1 3/8 in and a jaw length of 1 1/2 in set the physical capacity for wire diameter and access in tight spaces. Buyers needing larger cutting capacity or insulated handles should select a different model.

The tool is designed to strip both 22 AWG and 24 AWG wires, so you do not need to choose a version; one cutter handles both gauges.
You can cleanly cut solid or stranded copper conductors up to 20 AWG; anything thicker risks damaging the cutting edges.
The tool is uninsulated and not voltage rated, so it must only be used on de-energised circuits to avoid shock hazard.
