Astro A10 and A40 Replacement Cable

This 6.6 ft braided cable replaces the original cord on Astro A10, A40 and A40TR headsets. An in-line volume control lets you adjust audio levels without reaching for the console or PC. The grey 3.5 mm plug with four stripes connects to the headset while the black plug with three stripes fits controllers, smartphones or a PC splitter.

Durability From Strain-Relief Design

Reinforced strain relief at each connector end is rated for over 40,000 bend cycles, reducing the risk of fraying during daily gaming sessions. The blue braided jacket adds abrasion resistance and helps prevent tangles when the cable is coiled for storage or transport.

Not For Headsets With Proprietary Connectors

Buyers whose headsets use a non-standard multi-pin or USB link cannot use this 3.5 mm analogue replacement. The cable also lacks a built-in microphone splitter, so setups that require separate mic and headphone jacks will need an additional adapter.

Questions about this item

How many bends can the relief-strain cable survive before it needs replacing?

The braided cable is tested to withstand over 40000 bending cycles, so it should last through years of daily plugging and unplugging.

Will the in-line volume control still work after hours of non-stop gaming?

The passive volume slider has no active electronics, so it does not overheat or drift during extended use.

Does the 6.6 ft length add noticeable resistance or heat when the headset runs all day?

The short 3.5 mm analog cable carries only low-power audio signals, so it stays cool and adds no audible signal loss.
