  • Over 90 international keyboards simplify global deployment
  • Kit includes scanner, shielded USB cable and cradle

Ready-to-Use 2D Imager Kit

The DS2278 handheld imager arrives pre-configured for common scanning tasks so it works the moment you open the box. It targets retail, hospitality and light-industrial staff who need reliable 1D and 2D capture without spending time on setup menus. The kit bundles the scanner, a shielded USB cable and a charging cradle in a single package.

Cable-Detect Upgrade Over Manual Config

Auto-host detect cables remove the step of manually selecting an interface when the scanner is plugged into a POS terminal. The jump is worth it when you deploy dozens of units across shifts and want each device to recognise the connection automatically. Over 90 international keyboard layouts are supported for global roll-outs.

Tablet POS Integration With Micro USB Charging

The cradle provides a dedicated dock while the Micro USB cable offers a low-cost charging alternative for tablet-based POS stations. Simplified app tools let you configure and update the imager directly from the tablet. Buyers who need a fixed-mount scanner or a long-range imager should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Does the kit include the cradle and the shielded USB cable needed to mount the DS2278 on a counter?

Yes, the kit ships with the CR2278-PC10004WW cradle and the CBA-U21-S07ZBR shielded USB cable so the scanner can sit in its stand and connect to the host.

What step do installers often miss when plugging the DS2278 into a POS system for the first time?

They forget to let the auto-host detect cable identify the interface automatically; simply insert the shielded USB cable and wait for the scanner to configure itself.

Which part of the DS2278 kit will need replacement after heavy daily scanning?

The rechargeable battery inside the DS2278-SR00007ZZWW imager is the only component expected to wear out and require a swap over time.
