Heat-Resistant Shielding for Wireless Transmitters

K-Tek Stingray HeatBlock pieces are designed to protect on-camera talent from heat generated by body-worn wireless microphone transmitters. The set includes six flexible pads that sit between the transmitter and the skin. They are built for production environments where transmitters run warm during extended takes.

Patented Three-Layer Material Construction

Each piece uses a proprietary soft, flexible material engineered to withstand continuous temperatures of 240 deg. C (464 deg. F). The multi-layer design insulates the wearer while conforming comfortably to body contours. This construction prevents the discomfort that occurs when compact, high-power transmitters press against the body for long periods.

Passive Thermal Management in Use

The HeatBlock material exhibits strong insulating properties at the lower operating temperatures typical of wireless transmitters. By blocking heat transfer to the skin, the pieces eliminate a common source of talent complaints without adding active cooling or bulk. They require no power and add no audible noise to the recording environment.
