What you get with Dungeons: Gold Edition

This downloadable game bundles the original Dungeons strategy simulator and the stand-alone Dark Lord expansion into one Steam code. It is aimed at players who enjoy roleplaying strategy games where you design and manage an underground lair while luring heroes into traps. The Gold Edition delivers both campaigns in a single purchase.

How it runs on modest hardware

The title targets Windows XP SP2, Vista or 7 and asks for a 2.0 GHz dual-core processor, 3 GB of RAM and 2 GB of free hard-drive space. A graphics card with 256 MB of video memory supporting DirectX 9.0c and Shader Model 3.0 handles rendering. These modest requirements keep thermals, noise and power draw low on virtually any modern desktop or laptop.

Fitting the game into your library

Activation is handled through Steam, so the Steam client must be installed and an internet connection is needed for the initial unlock. The game is blocked in a specific list of countries; buyers outside those regions can add it to their account and play offline after activation. No additional launchers, subscriptions or special hardware are required beyond the stated system requirements.

Questions about this item

How do I install Dungeons: Gold Edition using the Steam code?

Redeem the 29769 code in Steam, then download and install both the base game and the Dark Lord expansion; the step users often miss is launching the expansion separately from the library.

Will I need to download patches or additional content after the initial install?

Steam delivers all updates automatically; the Gold Edition already contains the full base campaign and the stand-alone Dark Lord expansion, so no extra purchases are required.

What hardware limit will I hit first during long play sessions?

The 256 MB DirectX 9.0c graphics card with Shader Model 3.0 and 3 GB RAM are the minimum specs; sustained play may stress VRAM and system memory before the CPU becomes a bottleneck.
