Tropico 6 DLC for Steam PC

Tropican Shores is a downloadable expansion that adds ocean-based construction and resources to the base strategy game. It requires a Steam account and ownership of Tropico 6 on PC to activate and play. The DLC releases on 18 June 2024 and is locked to a 64-bit Windows environment.

New buildings and housing change island layout

The add-on introduces a Tidal Power Station, Pearl Diver facility and Private Yacht Shipyard alongside houseboat dwellings. These structures let you generate electricity from water, harvest pearls and service wealthy tourists directly on the sea. Gameplay shifts toward offshore expansion instead of inland zoning.

Steam code delivery with regional restrictions

The product ships as a digital Steam key with no physical media, so installation begins immediately after redemption. Activation is blocked in several countries including RU, CU, IR and KP among others. A persistent internet connection is needed for the initial unlock and subsequent Steam DRM checks.

Questions about this item

Will the Steam activation for this DLC expire or need renewing later?

The Steam code activates the DLC permanently on your account; no renewal or re-activation is required.

What stops me playing Tropican Shores if my PC only meets the base game minimum specs?

The DLC requires the base game Tropico 6 on Steam and a 64-bit Windows system; if either is missing the content will not launch.

How much extra power or heat does the DLC add when I leave the game running all day?

The DLC is digital content only; it adds no hardware load beyond what the base game already demands from your PC.
