Game overview

Patrician III is a real-time trading simulation set in 1300s Northern Europe. Players start as a modest merchant and work toward leading the Hanseatic League. The Steam download code activates in supported regions only.

System upgrade path

Minimum specs call for a Pentium II 450 MHz processor, 64 MB RAM and a 16 MB DirectX 8.1 graphics card. Recommended specs raise that to a Pentium III 900 MHz processor, 128 MB RAM and a 32 MB card. The jump is worth it if your current hardware meets only the minimum.

Target audience

Strategy fans who enjoy historical trade and city-building will appreciate the depth. Buyers in blocked regions cannot activate the code. Players needing modern graphics or multiplayer should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Does the Steam code require a DVD drive or physical media to install?

No physical media is needed. The game is a downloadable Steam code, so installation only requires a Steam account and an internet connection to redeem and download the files.

What is the exact Windows version list I must match before buying?

The minimum system requirements list Windows 98, ME, 2000 and XP. The code activates on Steam, but the game itself only officially supports those legacy operating systems.

Will I ever need to repurchase or renew the Steam licence for Patrician III?

The Steam licence is perpetual once activated. No subscription or renewal is required, though you may need to run the game in compatibility mode or a virtual machine on modern Windows versions.
