Tropico 3 DLC for strategy fans

Tropico 3: Absolute Power is the first official expansion pack for the base game Tropico 3. It adds a new campaign, fresh missions and extra gameplay options for rulers of a Caribbean island nation. The downloadable content is published by Kalypso Media and activates through Steam. Players who already own the base game on Steam can expand their experience with this DLC.

Requires base game Tropico 3 on Steam

This DLC will not run without the original Tropico 3 installed and activated on the same Steam account. The product key unlocks the expansion inside the existing installation. Buyers who do not yet own the base game cannot use this code alone. The Steam platform handles activation and installation automatically once the code is redeemed.

Runs on modest Windows hardware

Minimum specifications call for Windows XP SP2, Vista or Windows 7, a 2.4 GHz single-core CPU, 1 GB RAM and 4.5 GB free drive space. Graphics need a DirectX 9.0c card with 256 MB video memory and Shader Model 3.0 support, such as a Radeon X1600 or GeForce 6600 class GPU. A DirectX-compatible sound card is also required. The download delivers the game files directly, so no physical media is involved. Gamers in blocked regions cannot activate the code.

Questions about this item

What does the 2.4 GHz single-core CPU requirement mean for my PC?

The game needs at least a 2.4 GHz single-core processor; any modern multi-core CPU running at or above that speed will meet the requirement.

How does Steam DRM affect activation and play?

You must redeem the code through a Steam account, which then ties the DLC to that account for download and launch.

Will the DLC install on a 256 MB DirectX 9c graphics card?

Yes, a DirectX 9c card with 256 MB VRAM and Shader Model 3.0 support — such as a Radeon X1600 or GeForce 6600 — meets the minimum spec.
