45W HP Blue-Tip Adapter

This 45W AC adapter supplies 19.5V at 2.31A through a 4.5 x 3.0mm blue-tip connector. It is built for HP Pavilion, Spectre, Stream and Notebook models listed in the compatibility data. The unit accepts 100-240V 50-60Hz mains input worldwide. It replaces original part numbers such as 741727-001, TPN-LA15 and PA-1450-36HE.

Fits HP 14 15 17 Series

The barrel plug fits only the 4.5 x 3.0mm jack; it will not seat in the larger 7.4 x 5.0mm port found on some other HP units. No extra cables or modules are required beyond a standard IEC C5 or C7 mains lead. Using this adapter frees the laptop’s internal battery from acting as the sole power source during long sessions. Buyers whose laptops demand a 65W or higher brick should look elsewhere.

Steady 45W Output Under Load

The adapter maintains its rated 19.5V 2.31A output continuously while the system draws full power for charging and operation. Thermal design keeps the brick within safe limits during extended use without fan assistance. Output ripple stays within normal limits for laptop power bricks of this class. It is not intended for sustained loads above 45W.

Questions about this item

Does the 45W rating limit charging speed when the laptop is under heavy load?

The adapter delivers 19.5V at 2.31A for a 45W maximum; sustained heavy loads may draw more power than the brick can supply.

How much heat or fan noise does the 4.5×3.0mm blue-tip charger produce during all-day use?

It is a passively cooled 45W brick with no fan; expect warm but not hot surface temperatures after hours of continuous operation.

Which HP part numbers must the laptop already use for this 19.5V 2.31A unit to be compatible?

It matches HP part numbers 741727-001, 719309-001, 845611-001, 721092-001, 740015-001, 740015-002, 719309-003, 740015-003, 845836-850, A045R07DH, PA-1450-36HE, HSTNN-LA40, ADP-45FE, STNN-DA40, TPN-LA03 and PA-1450-56HA.
