  • Versatile connections including HDMI, optical, Bluetooth and USB-C

What the REN pair is

Kanto REN is a pair of powered bookshelf speakers with a built-in Class D amplifier. They connect directly to a TV, computer or phone and need no separate receiver. The matte blue cabinets hold a 1" silk dome tweeter and a 5.25" aluminum concave cone woofer.

Who they suit and who they don't

They suit viewers who want stereo sound from a TV with automatic power-on and remote control learning. They suit listeners who value a wide soundstage and DSP modes such as Vocal Boost and Night Mode. They do not suit buyers who need a battery-powered portable speaker or a multi-room wireless system.

The spec that decides fit

The 80 Hz automatic high-pass filter engages when a subwoofer is connected to the sub-out, sending bass below that point to the subwoofer and reducing distortion at higher volumes. If you will not add a subwoofer the speakers run full-range down to 50 Hz.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the speakers are receiving audio from the TV after connecting the HDMI cable?

The speakers automatically wake when the TV is turned on and can be controlled with the TV remote, indicating successful audio integration.

Which cables and accessories are included with the pair, and what must I buy separately to add a subwoofer?

The box includes a remote, speaker wire, power cord, manual, rubber feet and magnetic grilles. A subwoofer cable is not included and must be purchased separately.

Should I choose a different finish or configuration if I want the same 5.25-inch aluminum cone and 1-inch silk dome drivers?

The Matte Blue pair uses the same 5.25-inch aluminum concave cone and 1-inch silk dome drivers as other finishes; only the colour differs.
