  • Ergo-grip air-cushioned handles plus shock-absorbing end caps
  • 36-inch heavy-duty magnetic box level with three solid acrylic vials

Professional 36-Inch Magnetic Box Level

The Kapro 985 Apollo is a heavy-duty 36-inch magnetic box level built for professional contractors and serious tradespeople. It features three hand-calibrated solid acrylic vials delivering accuracy better than 0.0005 inches per inch. The level carries the VPA Germany tested seal for verified performance.

Upgrade from standard levels lacking precision

This model replaces basic levels that rely on fewer vials or lack certified accuracy. The jump is worth it when a project demands the Dual-View Plumb Site for direct vertical sighting and full reversibility for quick floor-to-ceiling transitions. Shock-absorbing end caps and ergo-grip handles add durability for daily job-site use.

Check for magnetic surface and length requirements

Before ordering, confirm the 36-inch length suits your typical workspace and that magnetic adhesion is needed for steel framing or fabrication. The level requires a ferrous surface for its magnetic base to function. Ensure the two milled read surfaces meet the flatness demands of your specific layout tasks.

Questions about this item

What length should I allow for the 36-inch box level when storing or mounting it?

The level measures 36 inches end to end, so allow at least that length plus a small clearance for the shock-absorbing end caps and ergo-grip handles.

How do I use the Dual-View Plumb Site to read the vertical vial without a side view?

Look straight down through the patented window on the top surface; the vertical vial is mirrored so you see the bubble directly from above.

The three solid acrylic vials are calibrated to 0.0005 in./in — what if one goes out of calibration?

The vials are factory hand-calibrated and not user-adjustable; if accuracy drifts, contact Kapro for their VPA-verified recalibration service.
