AC Wall Charger for Sony InfoLITHIUM batteries

The Kastar AC wall charger replaces Sony BC-VM50, BC-VM10 and BC-V615 units and charges NP-FM30, NP-FM50, NP-FM55H, NP-QM50, NP-QM51, NP-FM70, NP-FM71, NP-QM71, NP-QM71D, NP-FM90, NP-FM91, NP-QM91 and NP-QM91D packs. It suits owners of Handycam, Cyber-shot and Digital8 models that use these InfoLITHIUM cells.

Steady 8.4 V output across 100–240 V mains

The charger accepts AC 100–240 V at 50–60 Hz and delivers a constant DC 8.4 V at 600 mA, so charge rate stays the same whether plugged in at home or abroad. A red LED shows active charging and a green LED signals standby or full charge, giving clear status during extended sessions.

Foldable flat plug and compact 3×2×1 inch case

The foldable flat pins lie flush for pocket or bag storage without snagging. The small enclosure fits alongside cables in a camera kit and the moulded housing resists everyday knocks. Buyers needing to charge multiple packs simultaneously or wanting a car adapter will need a different solution.

Questions about this item

Does the Kastar AC wall charger generate noticeable heat or noise when left plugged in all day?

The charger runs silently with no fan; its 8.4 V 600 mA output produces only mild warmth during extended charging sessions.

Which battery models must I already own for this Kastar charger to work?

It charges Sony NP-FM30, NP-FM50, NP-FM55H, NP-QM50, NP-QM51, NP-FM70, NP-FM71, NP-QM71, NP-QM71D, NP-FM90, NP-FM91, NP-QM91 and NP-QM91D packs.

Will the Kastar charger power my older Sony CCD-TRV or DCR-HC camcorders directly?

No — it only charges compatible InfoLITHIUM batteries; the camcorders themselves run from those batteries once charged.
