Kastar AC Wall Charger for Canon BP-727 BP-718

This compact AC wall charger powers Canon BP-727, BP-718 and BP-709 lithium-ion batteries. It accepts 100 to 240 volt input for worldwide use and delivers a 4.2 volt, 600 milliamp output. A foldable flat plug makes storage simple. LED indicators show red while charging and green when the battery is full or on standby.

For owners of listed Canon VIXIA

The charger suits users who need a replacement or spare mains adapter for the compatible Canon batteries and camcorders listed in the specifications. It is not for photographers using cameras that require a different battery form factor or a higher charging current than 600 milliamp. Buyers who need to charge multiple batteries at once should look at a multi-bay unit.

4.2V 600mA DC output with 100-240V AC input

The single specification that decides compatibility is the charger's fixed output of 4.2 volts at 600 milliamps, matching the electrical requirements of the Canon BP-727, BP-718 and BP-709 packs. The wide 100 to 240 volt AC input allows direct connection to mains sockets in most regions without a separate voltage converter.

Questions about this item

How fast will the 600 mA output actually charge a Canon BP-727 battery inside the camcorder?

The charger delivers 4.2 V at 600 mA, so a typical BP-727 pack reaches full charge in roughly three to four hours from empty.

Does the 100–240 V input work on any mains socket worldwide without a separate adapter?

Yes, the built-in foldable flat plug accepts 100–240 V at 50–60 Hz, so only a simple travel plug adapter is needed for different socket shapes.

Will the 3 × 2 × 1 inch case fit alongside other gear in a compact camera bag?

The slim rectangular body and foldable pins keep the footprint small, letting it slide into tight accessory pockets or cable organisers.
