AC Wall Charger with Foldable Plug

The Kastar BP-727 is a compact AC wall charger designed for Canon VIXIA and LEGRIA camcorder batteries. It accepts a universal input of 100 to 240 volts at 50 to 60 hertz, making it suitable for worldwide travel use. The foldable flat plug allows the unit to slip easily into a camera bag or pocket. A simple LED shows red while charging and green when the battery is full or on standby.

Single-Bay Li-Ion Charging at 600 mA

This charger delivers a fixed output of 4.2 volts at 600 milliamps for compatible Canon BP-727, BP-718 and BP-709 lithium-ion packs. It charges one battery at a time, so users with multiple packs must cycle them sequentially. The modest current means a depleted high-capacity cell will need several hours to reach full charge. There is no fast-charge mode, USB port or simultaneous dual-bay operation.

Replaces Canon CG-700 for Compatible Camcorders

The unit serves as a direct replacement for the Canon CG-700 charger across a wide range of VIXIA HF and LEGRIA HF models. It is worth choosing when the original charger is lost, damaged or left behind on a shoot. Videographers who need to charge two or more batteries at once, or who want in-camera USB charging, will find this single-bay AC adapter insufficient.

Questions about this item

Will this Kastar BP-727 charger work with my older Canon BP-709 battery that I still use?

Yes, the charger is compatible with Canon BP-709, BP-718 and BP-727 batteries, so your existing BP-709 will charge normally.

How do I know the charger is actually charging my battery once I plug it in?

The LED shows red while charging and turns green when the battery is full or on standby, giving a clear visual confirmation.

Does the package include a Canon BP-727 battery or only the wall charger itself?

The pack contains one AC wall charger with a foldable flat plug; no battery is included, so you must supply a compatible Canon BP-727, BP-718 or BP-709 cell.
