Dual USB charger for Canon BP-808/809 batteries

This Kastar charger accepts two Canon BP-808 or BP-809 lithium-ion packs simultaneously. It suits videographers and event shooters who need spare batteries ready for Canon VIXIA HF M-series, HF S-series, HF G-series, XA10, FS-series and HG-series camcorders. The unit replaces the original Canon CG-800 charger with a compact USB-powered alternative. No battery is included in the pack.

LCD shows charge status and capacity per bay

An integrated display reports real-time charging progress and remaining capacity for each battery independently. The charger delivers 4.2 V at 800 mA per bay whether one or two packs are inserted. Intelligent circuitry manages the lithium-ion chemistry without memory effect, stopping automatically when each cell reaches full charge.

Micro-USB and USB-C inputs draw from common power

The adapter accepts 5 V at 2-3 A through either Micro-USB or USB-C, so it can run from a laptop, power bank, car adapter or wall brick. A Micro-USB cable is supplied. Interchangeable plates (not included) allow the same chassis to charge other Canon battery models, reducing the number of dedicated chargers a kit requires.

Questions about this item

What does the 800mA output mean for charge time on a Canon BP-808 battery?

Each slot delivers 800mA at 4.2V, so a typical BP-808 reaches full charge in roughly two to three hours depending on its remaining capacity.

How do the Micro-USB and Type-C inputs affect charging speed?

Both ports accept 5V at 2-3A up to 15W, so the charger draws the same maximum power whether you use Micro-USB or Type-C.

What physical space is needed to fit the charger and two batteries?

The unit measures 5 by 3 by 1 inch and holds two batteries side by side, so allow a little extra room for cables and the interchangeable plates.
