High-capacity replacement for Canon BP-A series

The Kastar BP-A60 is a 14.4V 6800mAh lithium-ion battery rated at 98Wh. It replaces Canon BP-A30, BP-A60, BP-A65, BP-A90 and US 0870C002 packs. Four onboard LEDs show remaining charge at a glance. Built-in circuitry guards against over-charge, over-discharge, over-voltage, over-current and over-heating.

Step up from lower-capacity BP-A packs

Users moving from a 30Wh or 65Wh original gain noticeably longer run time per charge. The jump is worth it for multi-hour shoots on C200, C200B, C220B, C300 Mark II, C300 Mark III, C500, C500 Mark II, C70, C700 PL, XF605 or XF705 bodies. Not suited for buyers who need hot-swap dual-battery plates or V-mount adapters.

Steady output during extended recording

Protection circuits maintain stable voltage through continuous 4K or 6K capture without thermal throttling. The 98Wh cell sustains cinema cameras through long takes and repeated start-stop cycles. Charges on Canon CG-A10 or CG-A20 chargers. Not designed for high-draw accessories that exceed the pack’s rated current.

Questions about this item

What are the dimensions of the Kastar BP-A60 so I can confirm it fits my camera battery compartment?

The Kastar BP-A60 measures 3 by 2 by 3 inches, matching the Canon BP-A60 form factor for direct fit in compatible Canon Cinema EOS and XF series cameras.

How do I install the BP-A60 battery and what is the common mistake to avoid?

Slide the battery onto the camera's V-mount style rail until the latch clicks; the step often missed is ensuring the four LED indicators face outward so you can read the charge level without removing the pack.

When will the Kastar BP-A60 need replacement and how do I maintain it?

The lithium-ion cells are rated for hundreds of charge cycles; store at roughly 50 percent charge in a cool, dry place and avoid full discharges to maximise service life before capacity drops below usable levels.
