Charger for Motorola Talkabout Radios

This Kastar LTD2 USB charger powers batteries used in Motorola Talkabout two-way radios including the T9650RCAMO, T9680, MC220, MC225 and MD200 models. It accepts Micro-USB or USB-C input so you can recharge from a power bank, wall adapter or vehicle port. The unit ships new and includes a Micro-USB cable.

Dual-bay charging with LCD status

Two battery bays charge cells simultaneously at 8.4 V or 4.2 V with 800 mA per bay. An integrated LCD shows real-time charging status and remaining capacity for each cell. Input requires a 5 V source capable of 2 A to 3 A.

Compact travel-ready design

The charger measures 5 by 3 by 1 inch and weighs little, fitting easily in a go-bag or vehicle console. It needs only a standard USB power source — no proprietary dock or AC brick. Builders who need to charge more than two batteries at once or who require a built-in AC plug will need a different solution.

Questions about this item

What does the 800 mA output mean when two batteries are charging together?

The charger delivers 800 mA to each battery when both slots are occupied, so both cells charge at the same rate.

How do the Micro-USB and Type-C inputs limit charging speed?

The charger accepts 5 V at 2–3 A through either port, so the wall adapter you use determines the maximum input current.

What space is needed to fit the unit on a desk?

The charger measures 5 by 3 by 1 inches, so it fits in a small footprint on any flat surface.
