Dual-slot charger for Canon BP-718 and related packs

The Kastar LTD2 accepts two Canon BP-718, BP-709 or BP-727 batteries simultaneously and works with VIXIA and LEGRIA camcorders from the HF R and HF M series. It is aimed at videographers who need to keep spare packs ready during long shoots.

LCD charge-status display with 4.2 V 800 mA output

Each slot delivers 4.2 volts at 800 milliamps and the built-in LCD shows real-time capacity for both cells. Micro-USB and USB-C inputs accept any 5 V 2–3 A source up to 15 watts, so a power bank or wall adapter can run the unit.

Steady 800 mA per bay under continuous use

The charger maintains its rated 800 mA per channel when both bays are occupied, avoiding the current drop that occurs with simpler single-output designs. Thermal regulation keeps output stable during back-to-back charging cycles.

Questions about this item

What does the 800 mA output per slot mean for charging time?

Each battery receives up to 800 mA, so a typical BP-718 pack reaches full capacity in roughly two to three hours when one or two cells are docked.

How do the Micro-USB and Type-C inputs limit charging speed?

The charger draws up to 15 W from either port, which is enough to sustain dual 800 mA output without throttling.

Will the 5-by-3-by-1 inch footprint fit in a compact camera bag?

The slim rectangular case slides into most accessory pockets and leaves room for cables and spare batteries.
