Replacement power for NEC handsets

The Kastar MX990 supplies a 1900 mAh lithium-ion cell and a matching AC wall charger that operates on 100 to 240 V mains. It replaces the original NEC 0910052 and 0910092 packs used in DT330, DTL-12BT-1, UX5000 DG-12e and A50-012628-001 desk phones. One battery and one charger are included in the pack.

Cool running wall charger

The charger draws power from a standard wall outlet and delivers a steady 4.2 V at 600 mA to the cell. A foldable flat plug keeps the adapter flush against the socket, and an LED shows red while charging and green when the battery reaches full charge. No fan is present, so operation is silent.

Simple desk-phone integration

The battery slots directly into the handset battery compartment without modification. The compact charger requires only a free mains socket and its foldable pins reduce the space needed on a crowded power strip. Users who need simultaneous charging of multiple handsets will require additional charger units.

Questions about this item

How do I install the battery in the NEC DT330 handset and what step is often missed?

Slide the MX990 pack into the handset until it clicks, then place the handset on the charger; the red LED must glow before you walk away.

What part will need replacement first and when?

The 1900 mAh lithium-ion cell loses capacity after several hundred charge cycles; replace the battery when talk time falls to roughly half of new performance.

What limit appears first during a long charging session?

The charger delivers 600 mA at 4.2 V, so the battery reaches full charge in about three hours and the green LED then signals standby.
