Kastar NB-8L Quadruple Charger

This Kastar NB-8L charger powers up to four compatible Canon NB-8L or NB-8LH batteries simultaneously. It suits photographers who own several PowerShot A-series cameras and want a single station to keep all packs ready. The compact unit measures 3.5 by 2 by 2.5 inches and fits easily in a gear bag.

Charging limits and power input

The charger accepts 5 V at 2 to 3 A through either Micro-USB or USB Type-C, drawing a maximum of 15 W. Output is 4.2 V at 800 mA when one or two batteries are inserted, dropping to 500 mA per slot with three or four batteries. Charge times therefore increase as more cells are added.

Installation notes

Simply plug the supplied Type-C cable into any 5 V USB source, insert the batteries, and the intelligent display shows each cell’s status and capacity. The only common issue is using an under-powered USB port that cannot deliver the required 2 to 3 A, which slows or halts charging.
