Compatible battery kit for action cameras

The Kastar NP-BY1 kit includes one 3.7 V 1100 mAh lithium-ion battery and a quadruple USB charger. It fits Sony HDR-AZ1 series action cams as well as select Pentax Optio, Ricoh and Sanyo Xacti models. The charger accepts Micro-USB or USB-C input and comes with a Type-C cable. Buyers using cameras that require a different battery form factor cannot use this kit.

4.07 Wh capacity and simultaneous charging

Each battery stores 4.07 Wh, delivering 3.7 V at 1100 mAh for extended shooting sessions. The charger powers up to four cells at once: 800 mA each for one or two batteries, 500 mA each for three or four. Input is rated at 5 V 2-3 A, 15 W maximum. Photographers needing higher single-cell capacity or faster top-up rates will find the output limited.

Compact charger with interchangeable plates

The charger measures 3.5 by 2 by 2.5 inches and features an intelligent display showing charge status and remaining capacity. Swappable plates let the same unit handle other battery models listed in the compatibility tables. Users who prefer a dedicated single-bay charger or who need AC mains input without a separate USB power adapter should look elsewhere.
