Kastar NP-FC11 AC Wall Charger

This Kastar NP-FC11 AC wall charger powers Sony Cyber-shot DSC-P5, P7, P8, P8E, P8S and P8R cameras through their NP-FC11 or NP-FC10 batteries. It replaces the original Sony BC-VC10 charger for owners who need a compact spare or travel unit. The foldable flat plug folds flush for easy storage in a camera bag or pocket.

Sustained charging behaviour

The charger accepts AC 100-240 V at 50-60 Hz and delivers a steady DC 4.2 V 600 mA output. This constant-current rate charges compatible Li-Ion cells without the taper seen in quick-charge protocols. A red LED shows active charging while a green LED signals standby or full charge, so you can monitor progress at a glance.

Thermals noise and power draw

With no moving parts the unit runs silently during normal use. The low 600 mA output keeps case temperature modest even during a full charge cycle. Power draw from the mains stays minimal thanks to the efficient switching design operating across the 100-240 V range.

Questions about this item

How much heat or noise does the Kastar NP-FC11 charger produce when left plugged in all day?

It runs silently with no fan, and the 4.2 V 600 mA output keeps it only slightly warm during continuous use.

Which Sony battery must I already own for this charger to work?

You need a Sony NP-FC11 or NP-FC10 lithium-ion pack; the unit charges those cells directly.

Will the foldable-plug charger fit the same outlets as my original Sony BC-VC10?

Yes, the 100–240 V input and flat folding pins work in any standard wall socket the BC-VC10 uses.
