Three-battery kit with foldable AC charger

The Kastar NP-FF70 set supplies three lithium-ion cells rated at 13 Wh and 7.2 V alongside a compact wall charger with a foldable flat plug. Each battery delivers 1800 mAh capacity and matches the NP-FF70, NP-FF71 and NP-FF71S form factor used by a range of Sony Handycam models. The charger accepts 100 to 240 V input and provides 8.4 V at 600 mA output with red and green LED status lights.

Replaces ageing original packs

Owners of compatible Sony camcorders can swap out depleted NP-FF50, NP-FF51 or NP-FF70 series cells for fresh 1800 mAh replacements in a single purchase. The jump is worthwhile when existing batteries no longer hold a full day of recording or when a spare set is needed for extended shoots. The bundled charger removes the need to hunt for a separate AC adapter.

Fits existing Handycam workflow

The charger plugs directly into mains power and fits alongside the camera in a gear bag thanks to its folding pins. Three cells rotate through charge cycles so one is always ready while the others power the camcorder. Buyers who need higher-capacity cells or a multi-bay charger for simultaneous charging will need a different solution.

Questions about this item

Will the 3 inch by 2 inch by 3 inch charger fit in a standard UK wall socket?

The AC wall charger has a foldable flat plug designed for easy storage and operates on 100 to 240 volts at 50 to 60 hertz, so it fits standard sockets when used with a suitable travel adapter.

How do I insert the NP-FF70 batteries into the charger and what does the LED show?

Slide each battery into the charger slot until it clicks; a red LED means charging and a green LED means standby or full charge at 8.4 volts 600 milliamps output.

How many charge cycles can the 1800 milliampere-hour lithium-ion cells handle before replacement?

Lithium-ion cells typically deliver several hundred full cycles; replace a pack when run-time drops noticeably or the charger shows a constant red light without turning green.
