AC wall charger with foldable flat plug

The Kastar NP-FH50 is a compact AC wall charger designed for Sony NP-FH series lithium-ion batteries. It accepts a universal input of AC 100–240 V at 50–60 Hz and delivers a DC 8.4 V, 600 mA output, making it suitable for travellers and home users who need a lightweight replacement or spare charger.

Charging limited to 600 mA output

The charger supplies a fixed 600 mA charge current, so larger-capacity packs such as the NP-FH70 or NP-FH100 will take longer to reach full capacity than they would on a higher-current dock. The LED indicator shows red while charging and switches to green when the battery reaches standby or full-charge status, providing a clear visual cue without the need for a display.

Replaces lost or damaged original Sony chargers

This unit directly substitutes the proprietary AC adapter supplied with compatible Handycam, Cyber-shot and Alpha models, eliminating the need to carry a separate power brick. It is not suited for users who require simultaneous multi-battery charging, faster charge rates, or a charger that also powers the camera during operation.

Questions about this item

Which Kastar NP-FH50 charger version should I choose for my Sony NP-FH50 battery?

This single charger handles every NP-FH series battery from the NP-FH30 up to the NP-FH100, so one unit covers all listed capacities.

What does the 8.4 V 600 mA output mean when I plug the charger in?

It delivers a steady 8.4 volts at up to 600 milliamps, giving a standard trickle charge that fills compatible Sony Li-Ion packs without overheating.

What does the AC 100-240 V input actually support in daily use?

The wide-range input accepts any mains voltage from 100 to 240 volts at 50 or 60 Hz, so the foldable flat plug works worldwide with only a simple travel adapter.
