What this charger powers

This Kastar AC wall charger replaces the original Sony supply for Handycam and Cyber-shot models that use NP-FH series batteries. It accepts any mains voltage from 100 to 240 volts at 50 or 60 hertz and delivers 8.4 volts at 600 milliamps to the battery.

How the foldable plug and LED help

The flat folding pins let the unit slip into a bag without snagging on cables or other gear. A single LED shows red while the battery is charging and turns green once the cell reaches full charge or sits in standby.

What to verify on your camera

Confirm your camcorder or camera appears in the long compatibility list supplied with the product data. The charger only works with NP-FH30, NP-FH40, NP-FH50, NP-FH70 and NP-FH100 cells, so other battery types will not fit.

Questions about this item

Will the foldable flat plug on this Kastar NP-FH50 charger wear out from daily folding?

The foldable flat plug is designed for repeated storage and travel use; no maintenance is required for the plug mechanism itself.

What limits continuous charging sessions with the 600 mA output?

The charger delivers a fixed 8.4 V at 600 mA, so battery capacity determines charge time; the unit has no built-in timer or thermal throttle.

Does the charger get hot or make noise when left plugged in all day?

It runs silently with no fan; the green LED shows standby when the battery is full, and the case stays warm but not hot during extended use.
