Dual USB charger for Sony NP-FR1 batteries

The Kastar NP-FR1 charger powers two Sony NP-FR1 batteries simultaneously through interchangeable plates. It accepts Micro-USB or USB-C input at 5 V and delivers 4.2 V at 800 mA per slot. An LCD panel shows charge status and capacity for each cell. The unit ships with a Micro-USB cable and contains no battery.

Verify battery model and USB power source

Confirm the camera uses the Sony NP-FR1 pack; the charger fits Cyber-Shot DSC-P, DSC-T, DSC-G, DSC-V and DSC-F models listed in the compatibility table. Ensure a 5 V 2–3 A USB supply is available, because the charger draws up to 15 W. No AC adapter is included, so a suitable USB charger or power bank must be provided separately.

Steady 800 mA output during extended charging

Each bay maintains a constant 800 mA current until the 4.2 V termination voltage is reached, so two cells charge at the same rate as one. The LCD continues to update capacity readings throughout the cycle. Thermal regulation is passive; the compact 5×3×1 inch enclosure relies on ambient airflow, so avoid enclosing the charger in a tight space during long sessions.
